The Caterpillar corporation, in partnership with Scientific American, commissioned me to re-imagine the way their replacement parts are visually presented to their customers. I worked with illustrator George Retseck, who supplied the beautiful technical illustrations and cutaways that for the project.
Adhering to the technical specifications related to Caterpillars branding was important, even though creating a fresh look for the parts sheets was the prime goal. Working with project manager Jeremy Abbate and editor/writer Mike May was pure joy. That the project was a success was a bonus.
